Broadgate from Holy Trinity Church Camera No. 57

Just like the majority of Coventrians, I find the changes in these two scenes particularly frustrating. Not much has altered on the right side of the picture, but a quick peek at the left hand side shows the unwanted item.... the Cathedral Lanes shopping centre!

Broadgate viewed from Holy Trinity Church in the 1950s

The 1950s scene shows how our beloved Broadgate used to appear when viewed from the lawn at the front of Holy Trinity Church, and even if this photo doesn't clearly display our old garden island in detail, the uncluttered vista must easily be preferable than the scene we were left with after 1990.
