It's always reassuring to see that not everything changes! By clicking on the photograph, you will see that Bond's Hospital and Bablake School on the right look much the same today as they did in 1910 with the tower of St. John's church looming over the roof in the background. (The view's slightly spoiled now though, by the towerblock behind it.)

The left hand side of the street has disappeared but on the whole, the view is still quite a pleasing one nowadays.
In the distance, a change in road layout can just be seen. In 1910, Corporation Street had not yet been built (this came in 1931) and you can see the end of Hill Street here disappearing around to the right into Fleet Street, before it, too, joined up with Smithford Street (not in view) which gradually disappeared during the late 1950's as the lower precinct was progressively completed.
